We hope this email finds you well. This is to inform you that recently the Income Tax Department has been actively seeking information regarding the taxpayers to catch those taxpayers who are trying to pay less tax.

The department sent One Lakh notices u/s 133(6) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, to those under the suspect list for under-reporting or misreporting their income by making fake claims of deduction.

In case you have claimed a deduction on the below-mentioned expenses, then you are advised to collect all the necessary documents, such as genuine receipts of payment and PAN details to support your case.

House rent allowance (HRA)
Donations to Charitable institutions
Monetary contribution to Political Parties
Medical Expenses
House Loans

Further, we wish to inform you that the department is also asking for details of “CA/Advocate/Income tax Practitioner who has prepared and filed your return”.
